Event Overview

“ENCOUNTER”:  is a weekend retreat focusing on encountering joy, truth, love, hope, mercy, peace, freedom: The Living God!  It is the Year 1 track of the CALL combined fall retreat for Years 1 & 3 teens.

Cost: $130 before Aug. 25: $145 Aug. 25-Sept. 1.  Limited spaces are available at this fall retreat!

As responsible and loving parents, we are sure that you would like to know some more details:

• Fr. Paul Sullivan will be the spiritual director. He will have the assistance of at least one more priest to allow for ample time for confessions.
• The Core Team for this retreat will be comprised of carefully selected parish youth leaders and their older adult Core Leaders.
• The four main talks are geared toward Gospel encounters with Christ. The content of the talks to be given will be outlined by Retreat Manager and pre-approved by Fr. Sullivan before they are assigned.
• Guys-only and Gals-only small groups led by Young Adult Core Leaders will meet throughout the weekend to discuss the topics.
• The guys and gals will be housed separately.
• Guys and gals will also be separated for two of the Saturday afternoon sessions.
• Meals are all provided to the entire group.
• Each dorm will have two adult, safe environment trained Core Leaders of the same sex, along with 10 teens. The main job of the core leaders is to give 100% supervision to the teens.
• To allow for engagement in the content, we ask that cell phones be either kept safely in our cell phone box or turned off in their dorm. If needed, they can check in with parents if needed.

Parent Drop off at Mt. Claret: Friday, Sept. 15 at 6pm. Please bring them well- fed. No dinner is provided Friday night.
Parent Pick up:  Sunday after noon lunch with a Parent Session occurring 11-12. Parents can stay for lunch!
Clean up help is welcomed at the end of the retreat!

• Sleeping Bag & Pillow
• Bible
• Rosary
• Journal
• Towel, Toiletries
• Flashlight
• Warm clothes
• Tennis Shoes
• Snack to share for the weekend’s snack table

Do not bring:

iPods/MP3s, electronics, (cell phone ok for emergency only, otherwise off), alcohol, weapons, cigarettes
